Our dog's behaviour is an expression of their needs. Rather than focusing on changing their behaviour, let's shift our attention to meeting those needs. The question is: how can we achieve this effectively?

As dedicated canine professionals, behaviour change has traditionally been at the core of what we do, whether we are teaching new, desirable behaviours or replacing unwanted ones with more acceptable alternatives.

We know that behaviour reflects needs and more and more professionals are embracing a needs-based philosophy rather than one that simply prioritises task.

But how do we do this practically as professionals? What actions should we guide our clients to take, and what tools can support their journey? Does it mean completely abandoning positive reinforcement training?

And how can we convince clients, who are often looking for quick training solutions, that this is the way forward?

Introducing the Wellbeing Framework: a straightforward, step-by-step approach designed to empower us and our clients in their needs-based journey. It provides a solid foundation for guiding our clients towards understanding and meeting their dog's needs effectively and creating harmony in the home.

This is what you'll learn in the Masterclass...

1

Why a needs-based focus is important and what it means. How to balance the needs of the dog with the needs of the human.

2

How to get your clients excited to focus on their dog's needs.  Enrolling your clients in a wellbeing-centred approach to training.

3

How the Wellbeing Framework can simplify and speed up your practice.  Deep dive into our step-by-step approach with practical examples relating to training and behaviour.

A note from your hosts

We are Michelle Dart and Janet Finlay, founders of HeartDog. We are committed to fear- and force-free training but we believe that we need to go even further and prioritise the emotional, physical, mental and social wellbeing of dogs, their people and the canine professionals who support them.

Focusing on our dogs' needs rather than on behaviour change and task training has been a game changer for us and our clients. We know that behaviour is an expression of need but we have also found that many of you are unsure how to build this into your training and behaviour practice and struggle to get your clients on board.

That is why we have put together the Wellbeing Framework and this Masterclass - to explore a straightforward, step-by-step, needs-centred approach that will give you all the practical guidance you need to implement this in your business.

We can't wait to share this with you. Make sure you come along live to get the most out of the experience - we look forward to seeing you.

Looking forward to it!
